Meet Pastor Cal.

I was called to the ministry at age 14 when I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I've taken many correspondent courses, and extended Bible courses, and have been mentored by Pastor Bill Mitchell and other pastors for 23 years before I started pastoring The Church Upon The Rock at the age of 37. Since then, our church has merged with Abundant Grace pastored by the late Bill Mitchell to form New Life Christian Fellowship.

I was married in 1979 to Cheryl and have two sons, two daughter-in-laws and ten grandchildren. Both sons are involved in different ministries in some capacity.

I have a heart of passion and desperation for our God and His word—a strong passion for prayer and a burden for “the church” and the community around NLCF. My desire is to see the churches let down walls and be unified in the essentials of Christianity and reach out to the lost and unchurched in the community.

A Sunday Service 10:30am

Our Appearance

Come as you are! Yes, you can find many people here wearing business casual dresses, but if that’s not your style, don’t sweat it! Wear what you are comfortable praising God in! God doesn’t care if you wear jeans, sandals, dress clothes, or a T-shirt; we don’t either!

Sit where you feel comfortable, there are no “reserved seats”…and no one will ever question your seating choice.

Our Service

Generally, our service consists of praising, thanking, and worshiping Jesus Christ. We generally conclude our service with one last song – sending us home with the Joy of The Lord. As stated this is a general service, we do try and allow the Spirit of God to lead.

Our Attitudes

We come here to Worship and Praise God with expectant hearts, to hear and at times discuss His word, and to minister to each other! Jesus Christ is living in us, and we want His Light to shine through and out of us, in everything we say and do! It’s all about the attitude of the heart toward our God the Lord Jesus Christ. When our heart’s attitude toward Jesus is right, our heart’s attitude toward others is also right.

Beliefs

1. Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of 66 books from Genesis to Revelation, to be the inspired word of God. The Bible was written by holy men controlled by the Holy Spirit in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally inspired and free from error. (2Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Jn. 17:17)

2. Creation

We believe in the literal Genesis account of creation and do not support an allegorical or symbolic rendition. (Gen. 1:1-2;25; Jn. 1:3; Col. 1:16-17; 1Cor. 11:17)

3. Fall of Man

We believe man was created sinless and innocent but fell from this exalted state by voluntary transgression thus severing his relationship with His maker. (Gen. 3:1-6;24; Rom. 5:12-19; Rom. 3:10-19; Eph. 2:1-3)

4. The Virgin Birth

We believe that Jesus was begotten of the Holy Spirit by the miraculous conception of the virgin Mary. (Lk. 1:35; Matt. 1:20; Jn. 1:14; 1Tim. 3:16)

5. Atonement For Sin

We believe that salvation for sinners is totally by the grace of God through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God. Jesus’ death on the cross made atonement for our sins as a voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner's place. And it is only by His atonement that we have salvation and therefore can enter into Heaven.     (Eph. 2:8-9; John 3:16; 2Cor. 5:21; John 20:21; Heb. 9:12-15)

6. Holy Trinity

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, maker of heaven and earth. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Jn. 1:1-3; Jn. 10:30; Rev. 22:18-19; 1Tim. 1:17; Jn. 16:13)

7. Death and Resurrection of Jesus

We believe Christ died on the cross for redemption from sin for all mankind. He arose on the third day as He prophesied, in bodily form. (Matt. 28; Lk. 24; Jn.20-21; 1Cor. 9:12-15)

8. Christ’s imminent Return

We affirm that Jesus Christ is present by sitting at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us. At the time when no one knows except the Father, He will return to earth in bodily form as he left, to take all believers with Him. (Heb. 7:24-25; 8:1-24; Jn. 14:1-3; 1Cor. 15:51-58)
